ISO Launch

The ISO Launch event of 2024 marked the beginning of The Wattle Company’s journey towards ISO Certification. The Company had made the bold decision to initially attain ISO Certification for two operations, namely Nyanga Plywood Plant, and Mutare Pole and Veneer Plants. 

An IMS (Integrated Management System) was chosen which encompassed ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety) and 1SO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System). The IMS serves to demonstrate the Organisation’s commitment to Occupational Safety and Health and also demonstrate the Organisation’s capability to continuously provide timber-based products and services that address interested parties’ and customer requirements.

The Organisation stands to benefit immensely from ISO Certification. Among the salient benefits are

• Reduction of operational costs due to improvements in efficiency and overall performance

• Comptitive advantages, access to new markets and business partners

• Improves Organisation’s reputation locally, nationally and internationally

The journey does not end with ISO Certification. The Wattle Company has made an undertaking that besides developing and implementing the IMS, it will also maintain the system for continuous and continual improvement in its operations.
